This summer, Class 4-324 will host a Online Book Club on our blog!!!
In order to make this happen, we need to choose books that kids are interested in reading for the book club. Post all your suggestions for books we could read below! After we choose books, we'll order copies for all the kids who are interested in participating. If you have ideas about how to make the book club even more exciting, post those here too!
I had a few ideas for books for our book club!
ReplyDeleteOne is "City of Embers," which is the first book in a fantasy series. It reminds me a little of the "Gregor the Overlander" books.
Another is "Umbrella Summer." It's a book by Lisa Graff who wrote "The Thing About Georgie," and it is about a girl with MULTIPLE problems.
The last one I though of is "Extra Credit." This is by Andrew Clements, the author of "Benjamin Pratt and the Keepers of the School." It's a book about a kid who is in dire need of extra credit and gets an interesting international pen pal.
I can't wait to read all of your ideas!

Well I have two ideas and they are both written by the same author: Kate DiCamillo.
ReplyDeleteOne is The Miraculous Journey Of Edward Tulane, it is a really great book about a china rabbit who has a miraculous journey.
My second is The Magicians Elephant, it is also a great book and I just started reading it.

Ellis
I am looking at books that we could read on my computer and I just saw "Diary of a wimpy kid." Book six! That would be a great book to read.

Elliot has been reading The Hobbit and loving it. I also think a good choice would be M.C. Higgins the Great by Virginia Hamilton. It is a very summery book. One of my favorite authors of all times is Edith Nesbit. I think The Railway Children or Five Children and It would be wonderful too.
ReplyDeleteEric just read the first book of the new The Titanic series by Gordon Korman. The remainder of the series is not out yet, coming in August and after. But another historical fiction series by this author, like the one about Mount Everest, might be good.

Is Johnny Tremain too old school? You got your Revolutionary War, your Tea Party, your battle of Lexington and Concord (MA). And a Newbery Medal for Children's Lit.
